The Chesapeake Fund — an innovative partnership of
Forest Trends, the
Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the
World Resources Institute —
works to reduce the amount of nitrogen flowing into our local streams and rivers.
Why nitrogen? Science tells us that excess nitrogen is the Chesapeake Bay's biggest polluter. It creates the growing "dead zones" that are choking life in the Bay. Reducing nitrogen pollution is the surest way to improve the health of the Bay.
Through the Chesapeake Fund, regional businesses and organizations can become
Partners for Healthy Waters, and individuals and families can
offset their impact on our watershed.
Together, we can restore the Bay.
